OnePlus 5 Rumors Regarding Its Name and Main Features
It has been rumored that OnePlus will not be adopting the OnePlus 4 name for their next device, as the number 4 holds negative influences in Chinese Culture. There is no official declaration regarding this but there has been an OnePlus model device spotted at the Chinese Radio Regulation Authority and it would seem that it will be called OnePlus 5.
This model has been initially spotted by AndroidPure with the number A5000 attached to it. This would suggest that the next one will be named OnePlus 5. This presumption comes from the fact that the previous models, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, had the numbers A3000 and A3010 associated with them.
The new OnePlus is set to be officially unveiled sometime during the second half of the current year, and leaks for this device seem to be increasing more and more. Reports show that the OnePlus 5 will feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC processor with about 8GB of RAM available. Apparently, it will also have a 2K 5.5 inch display and a storage capacity of 256GB. The rear camera for the OnePlus 5 will be a powerful 23-megapixel camera with full optical stabilization, flash and zoom. The front camera is, supposedly, a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Some reports have also claimed that this smartphone will have a dual-edged screen, as well as hardware navigation keys. The bezel of the phone will have been made slimmer when compared to its predecessor and because of more display space, the scanner for the fingerprints will be situated at the back of the phone. It will be slightly slimmer that former phone at about 7mm thin.
Lastly, a new detail that has surfaced is that the OnePlus 5 will be equipped with a ceramic body in a similar style with the Xiaomi Mi MIX. Pricing for this device will hopefully stay true to the companies style of releasing high-end specifications at only mid-range prices.
