Some TubeMate FAQs You Should Know About

1

Video streaming services are undeniably popular these days. They are so popular that you’ll easily find a dozen options out there. However, YouTube remains the go-to source for user-created and uploaded videos on the web.

But there’s a downside. Content from this Google-owned streaming service isn’t so easy to download, especially if you save the content on your desktop computer. Not to fret though as there are tools that will allow you to do just that. One of them is TubeMate.

TubeMate is a free intuitive app that lets you download YouTube videos on your PC so you can watch them offline. Doing so allows you to save on internet data and access favorite content time and again with ease. TubeMate also gives you the ability to save videos in a number of video formats (mp4, avi, 3GP).

For those unfamiliar with TubeMate, here’s a list of frequently asked questions (and answers) to get you updated.

What version of the app should I download?

It’s always recommended to download the latest version of any app. In the case of TubeMate, that would be the 3.1 (1053) APK 2018.

Can I store TubeMate videos on the SD card of my Android phone?

Yes, but the process is not as straightforward as downloading it directly to your phone. This is because the KitKat OS and Oreo versions of the Android OS hasn’t made this available yet. In the meantime, there are two methods you can try to get this done.

If you have the root access, download SDfix from Google Play Store. Open your Tubemate app and select Preferences. From there you can choose a folder where you want to store the videos on your phone’s SD card.

Now, if you don’t have the root access you can still go to the Tubemate app. Once its open, go to Preferences. Choose “External” from the options provided.

It’s worth noting that this second method doesn’t allow you to change the folder location.

How do I install TubeMate on a PC?

Downloading TubeMate on your desktop PC requires an Android emulator.  This will allow you to download any app from the Play Store on your PC.  Bluestacks is a good option for this. When you’re done downloading it. You can then proceed to download and install TubeMate.

There’s a better option called ‘Videoder’ which offers the same features but its UI is more modern and can be installed on Windows without the need for an emulator..
