Ron Paul Suspends Presidential Campaign
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Ron Paul
Could this be the last Ron Paul post I ever write?
“Elections are short-term efforts,” Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, told supporters in a Web video tonight. “Revolutions are long-term projects.”Paul indicated that the 2008 presidential campaign portion of his revolution is over.
An earlier version of this report indicated that Paul would “drop out” of the race. In the video, Paul did not use the words “drop out”; opting instead to say the campaign is “winding down” and he encourages supporters to still cast votes for him. But he referred to his campaign in the past tense.
“We are still in the early stages of bringing about the changes that this revolution is all about,” Paul said in the video. “Let us hope that we can one day look back and say that this campaign was a significant first step that signaled a change in direction for our country. Our job now is to plan for the next phase.”
And he was never heard from again…

Oh No ……you evidently pay too much attention to the media that is usually wrong.
Ron Paul has not dropped out. ABC spun a video way out of context as usual. Shame they can’t hire some decent reporters.

With referring to the campaign in the past sense he meant most of it has been over, which is correct. He has NOT dropped out: if you listened closely he said he is available to travel to whichever state invites him. Can reporters really listen accurately? or do they always have to nid pick, take out of context and spin to deliver a false message????

Wrong! ABC News got caught in a lie and has changed the story three times in the last two hours. I agree with Flo that each time they have spun the story to keep putting down his campaign when what he actually was saying was that it is entering into a new phase. Check it out for yourselves.

Big Teeth. Huge Ass.
Now Justine don’t be so hard on yourself.

A bunch of misrepresentation. He has not dropped out. You should be ashamed of yourself for writing this crap!

That’s the video.
The revolution continues

Paul has turned a lot of people onto his brand of small government politics that previously were apolitical. He’s energized an entire section of the political map that was previously hibernating.
And yeah, he hasn’t dropped out. The campaign IS winding down, because the number of primaries left are winding down. But he’s in it till the convention.

Justin Gardner, you are a total idiot…let’s not hear from you again!…..

The revolution continues, for only $14.28 at Amazon.com.

And all that money Paul raised? Is his plan for the next phase to spend some of it on getting re-elected to Congress? And then, what about the rest of it? Retirement nest egg? Swiss bank account?
No, wait, I know: gold!

Here’s the true statement; from Ron Paul, NOT the media. they spun this to mean something else, once again.

Justin Gardner , You and I both hope this is your last Ron Paul post. However, Ron Paul will be heard from again – relentlesly in fact – for the next four years at least.
Andresoon – It is illegal to spend the presidential money on another race. If the money is kept in dollar currency someone will be able to use it for dunnage or fire starter as the U.S. currency continues to tank (as Ron has steadfastly articulated).

where in the video did Ron say “Suspended”?
google bank failures and see the truth..the american empire will collapse very soon…the truth is out there for those who choose to seek it and not deny it by just being interested in imbeciles like the author of this blog and Brittany Spears underwear
March 7th, 2008 at 7:23 am
And all that money Paul raised?
Hopefully he’ll use it for spreading ideas. It’s a long term strategy, but sometimes thats the only option.
March 7th, 2008 at 8:33 am
Wishful thinking, Mr Gardner. America WILL return to it’s principles, or it will fail. If you believe this is the last you’ll hear of Ron Paul, you are sadly mistaken. The ideas and values he epitomises are the ideas and values that have made America a great nation. Just because the GOP and Democratic parties have abandoned them doesn’t mean the American people have.
March 7th, 2008 at 9:43 am
Uhm….watch the video. The MSM has misinterpreted it. That is good news.
It ain’t over until WE say it is over.
Ron Paul has not quit.
He is still spreading the message. We will do the rest.
He has not asked for his name to be removed from any ballot.
Lightning may strike between now and the convention.
Goodness knows that McCain is NOT well liked among Republicans. He is just the best that Americans can vote for with MSM like your self slanting the results.
Please quit spreading falsehoods. Admit the ambiguity of what he said in the video and URGE people to listen to the video themselves. There is a strategy afoot that needs McCain to shoot himself in the foot. You are hurting this by saying he is out when he is only talking about realities and odds. We know the odds. Do you? And the outcome if we fail? Get real and start helping
We ain’t giving up!
March 7th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Yeah and don’t forget about our little friend the Write-In on the ballot…there is a good chance most ballots wouldn’t have Congressman Paul’s name on them anyway, a lot of people wouldn’t know the difference or even think to question the matter.
That is the danger America faces.
And sadly there is a vast majority of pathetic, apathetic gits out there who love to eat out of that media trough…they eat the slop right up.
Then they complain about indigestion.
WTF?
I am proud to say “I am rEVOLting!” And love to chuckle at the pun intended.
Yeah I had a 1099 this year *erlack!* but I figure since the Income Tax is complete BUNK anyway, what’s to stop me from sending all of MY hard earned money to support my candidate?
Take it like the bizzachy cowards you are ye Corporate Piggy weasels!
God help me, I am in love with my Constitutional Rights!
March 7th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
Hey sheeple have you ever questioned why the main stream media hides Ron Paul? He didnt drop out either. Just proof the mainstream media is a bunch of lieing whor3s ran by the Neo-cons. The D.C. march is on June 21 its up to us to spread the word because, well you know. WHOR3S! I also am very much in love with my Free country and my U.S. Constitution and to whomever infringes on my Constitutional rights may you die a traders death.

Ron Paul supporters…the gift that just keeps on giving!
March 7th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Yep, Justin. They’re the people who would say that 1 + 1 = 17.5 if Ron Paul said so. They actually thinks he understands economics when the truth is that he has never ever studied the subject except to decide that the Austrian school and libertarian economics appeal to him on an ideological basis. They, like he. do not understand the historical context of the Constitution or its writers. They don’t realize that the type of system they want was tried before our current Constitution was written and abandoned as unworkable even then, much less in the 21st century.

FreedomFest 2008 – Congressman Ron Paul and Bob Barr have been confirmed as a speakers and they will join our 100 plus speakers and 1,000 plus attendees in Las Vegas on July 10 -12 at Freedomfest 2008. We look forward to their thoughts and insight on the future of the Ron Paul Revolution and his Campaign For Freedom.
Also we will also have Richard Viguerie, often called the “funding father” of modern conservative strategy as his direct mail efforts started the modern conservative movement. 2008 will be a watershed year in American politics in our fight for a return to liberty and limited constitutional government. We must continue the campaign to promote the Ron Paul Revolution of liberty, a return to limited constitutional government and free markets to the American public.
