In an investigation carried out by GuardianFilms for Channel 4, we uncover how thousands of Iraqis [80,000+] employed at $10 a day by the US to take on al-Qaida are threatening to go on strike because they say they have been used by the ‘Americans to do their dirty work’ and haven’t been paid
If this thing really does fall apart because we simply didn’t pay these guys, well, it would be completely unsurprising and typical of the management of this war.

Well, it turns out the surge is not slowly falling apart, the security forces were paid, and this is not a big issue. So says General David Patraeus.
It turns out the Guardian was referring to outdated information, and that even more Sunnis are being incorporated into the security forces to fight Al-qaeda. They are desperately searching for news to proclaim failure in Iraq that simply isn’t there. I don’t know which is more “typical.”
