Hagee Says Hitler’s Holocaust Fulfilled God’s Will?

First, the audio…

Second, the commentary…

From Megan McCardle…

John Hagee is certainly right to wonder how God could have let the Holocaust happen. But . . . well, I’m kind of speechless. [...] How long before McCain has to publicly repudiate him?

From The Carpetbagger Report:

This is the guy whose support McCain worked for a year to earn. It’s also the guy McCain refuses to repudiate, and to this day, whose endorsement he’s “proud” and “glad” to have.

For that matter, it’s also the same guy Joe Lieberman defended on Fox News last week, because, as Lieberman explained, Hagee “represents a lot of people in this country, particularly Christians who care about the state of Israel.”

Personally, I think Hagee has a very small bit of wiggle room on this, but he better clarify very soon. Because while everything is essentially “God’s” will, it certainly sounds like Hagee suggested that God created Hitler to cause the Holocaust so Jews would go to Israel…which is not only a really crazy explanation, but also incredibly demeaning with regards to why and how Israel was formed.

More as it develops…

    Hagee: Hitler Did God’s Work…

Hagee, whose endorsement McCain fought for, has previously made comments against gays and called Catholicism “the great whore.” The latest dust-up comes with relation to a late 1990s sermon in which Hagee claimed Hitler was doing God’s work. The …

Funny how the media isn’t running a loop of this 24/7 like they did Rev. Wright. What’s up with the “liberal” media?

Hagee is not McCain’s pastor. McCain did not spend years upon years attending Hagee’s church nor has he, as far as anyone knows, used the man as a spiritual advisor. While it’s fair to criticize McCain for seeking and accepting this man’s endorsement, it is just flat out silly to pretend that Hagee is anywhere near as important to McCain as Wright is/was to Obama.

  4. Djthedj Says:

I didn’t say he was. McCain specifically sought this nutcase out for an endorsement so it would follow that the “liberal” media would give this maybe one tenth of the nonstop panic coverage that it gave Rev. Wright. Or would you care to admit that the whole idea of the media being liberal is a big steaming pile of horse manure that the lying whores you keep voting into office came up with to trick the brainwashed morons to keep voting them in so they can continue to destroy America?

I’m sorry, did the Jews not go back to form a country called Israel after WWII?
Was it not WWII aftereffects that made that happen?
Is that not what John Hagee was saying?
God does use evil for the purpose of good right?
Were the Jews enslaved in Egypt for a couple of thousands of years?
I don’t get it. This must be some kind of spin.
Just remember, John Hagee cares what happens to the Jewish people.
    They are God’s chosen people.

He sure does. He can’t wait for all but 144,000 of them to be killed. If that’s not caring, I don’t know what is.
