Palin Viewed More Favorably Than Biden

Proving that Americans love a new face, Sarah Palin’s favorable ratings trump her counterpart’s ratings by 10%. Palin scores a 58% favorability rating in the most recent Ramussen poll conducted after her big speech. Joe Biden gets a 48% while both John McCain and Barack Obama clock in at a respectable 57%.

Biden does lead in the “ready to be president” question but, surprisingly, Palin is not too far behind. 49% say Biden is ready compared to 40% for Palin.

Palin has obviously started out well. But her numbers have the potential to be a lot more volatile than do Biden’s numbers. If vice presidential nominees actually swing votes, then Palin still has a lot of work to do to keep people liking her and considering her qualified. Let’s see how she does.
