Shaheen and Udall Add to Dems Senate Numbers
By Alan Stewart Carl | Related entries in 2008 Election, CongressOn the heels of Hagan’s win in North Carolina, Jeanne Shaheen wins New Hampshire and Tom Udall wins New Mexico to give the Democrats two new Senate seats. They’ve picked up four so far tonight. And there will be more.
Of note, the additions give the Democrats at least 50 seats, and that’s before counting in independents Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman. I’m sure there are more than a few Dems who are glad they’ll no longer have to rely on Lieberman to put them in the majority.

I know there are a few Dems who are thinking, to heck with Lieberman and lock him out of the caucuses, but that would be a mistake.
They need to send a message that the Democratic Party is going to do things differently and be the party of INCLUSION.
