Obama Most Admired Man
By Alan Stewart Carl | Related entries in Barack, PollsAs if we didn’t need more proof that expectations are high for Barack Obama, a new USA Today/Gallup poll shows Obama as the most admired man by Americans.
And it isn’t even close.
Obama received the nod from 32% of the Americans surveyed. Coming in second was George W. Bush with just 5%. This disparity tells me two things. First, Obama is entering office as a beloved figure and 2) there just aren’t a lot of admirable people in America today.
On the women’s side, Hillary Clinton is the most admired, with 20% of the people polled picking the incoming Secretary of State. Next is Sarah Palin at 11%. Michelle Obama makes the list at #5, although only 3% of poll respondents chose her. Unlike her husband, the next first lady has a lot of room to improve.
