There Is One Person Americans Dislike More Than Bush
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Cheney, History, PollsNot that he really cares, but nonetheless…
Americans’ historically negative assessment of the administration is not limited to the president. Vice President Dick Cheney’s favorability rating in the new poll is 13 percent, the lowest of his time in office.
So will he stay off the national stage?
In an interview following the swearing-in of the Senate’s latest member, Sen. Ted Kaufman (D-Del.), Cheney told The Hill that he has mixed feelings about leaving government service again.“I’ve enjoyed it. It’s been a great career, and I’ve been very fortunate to be able to serve,†Cheney said. “And I will miss it. On the other hand, I’ve got some things that I look forward to in private life … You know this is the fourth time I’ve transitioned from government to the private sector.â€
Please Dick…stay away. Even Republicans don’t like you. Just go on a permanent fishing trip and leave us alone. 8 years is enough.

No, no, no, I’d love for Shotgun Dick and his sidekick Shrub to be the face their party, their policies, their achievements for years to come, as a cautionary tale, if not simply for partisan gain. With his political and strategic skills, his party should welcome him, and so long as his hands are well clear of the levers of power, I do, too.

I believe that if it weren’t for Dick Cheney, Bush would have merely had a fair-to-mediocre presidency instead of a terrible one.

maybe some jail time would be a good home coming for him?
