The Bush administration inflamed the region with its arrogant, agressive, jingoistic and dictatorial approach, and its refusal to hold Israel accountable for any of the problems to whcih it contributed. There can never be a peace agreement if the United States simply backs unconditionally anything Isael wants to do. How can there be a settlement as long as Israel continues to build illegal settlements in Palentinian areas? Obama supports Israel's right to exist, but he also requires Israel to become a part of the solution not just unaccountable for its aggressive actions. He has the right idea. What is so satisfying about the right-wing talkers raving away is that they are not being supported by the majority of Americans. Obama won big time in spite of their oitlandish statements.
