Nexus, Pixel and Sony Devices Get Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update With Bug Fixes

0

If you were anticipating Nougat to arrive on your own device, then you’re in for a surprise, since Android 7.1.2 update is ready to go. However, this will be available just for some of the Nexus devices, plus the Pixel ones and the Sony devices. This may even be the first product that doesn’t belong to Google and still receives the update. For now, we don’t know which of the Sony Xperia products will receive the update, but at least now we have the latest Concept that relies on the 7.1.2 version.

What Does the Update Bring New?

The most recent update to Android includes a couple of bug fixes, enhancements to Bluetooth, several battery usage alerts and a better fingerprint gesture performance. All the changes, besides the fingerprint swipe, will be included in the Concept. However, once the update will start to be used, we should expect lots of bugs, since it’s still in its first phases of production.

Pro Tip for Installing

If you want to install it, then one of the first things you should take care of is the Wi-Fi connection. The setup wizard will work properly only with Wi-Fi, not a 3G or 4G LTE connection. It can indeed be an inconvenience, but thankfully these days you find Wi-Fi everywhere. Even so, it’s no reason not to upgrade.

Up until now, the Google Pixel device owners who have installed that Android 7.1.2 did not complain about anything important. From what it seems, the version is ready to be released as a beta, but of course, it won’t be perfect.

Share Your Feedback!

The developers at Sony worked hard in order to check all the errors and to run the Nougat themselves, so the version should be safe now. You can also share whatever feedback you have with the Concept Team, to help rushing the next update and find bugs and improve features.
