PlayStation 5 Leaks and Newest Details We Know
Sony has released its first PlayStation console back in December 1994. The second variant of the console has been released six year later and the PlayStation 4 six years after that. The PlayStation 4 was released in 2013 (7 years after the launch of the PlayStation 3) and a few months later, the company has brought its PlayStation 4 Pro.
Damian Thong, analyst at Macquarie Capital Securities, the same person that was pretty accurate regarding the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, predicts that the PlayStation 5 will actually be released in the second half of 2018, and this means less than 5 years after the PlayStation 4 has hit the stores.
Unfortunately, other than these predictions, Thong has not mentioned any of the PlayStation 5 details. However, it is quite easy to speculate what kind of specifications the upcoming PlayStation 5 will come with. Likewise the Xbox One console, the PlayStation console comes powered by a custom processor and graphics card (AMD-built x86 multi-core processor and AMD GPU). These chips come with almost the same technology that’s found on the computers.
First of all, the PlayStation 5 will most likely have a more-powerful processor, a better graphics card and of course, more (and faster) GB of RAM. As most of you already know, you can change the HDD on your PlayStation 4 and thanks to the latest update you are also able to connect an external HDD to it via the USB cable. However, the PlayStation 5 will probably be released with way more storage when compared to the PlayStation 4.
Rumors say that the PlayStation 5 will be released with 2TB or even more storage, which will surely be enough for most players out there. It is well known that Sony’s PlayStation 4 was a huge success and that the Xbox One sales have forced Microsoft to reduce the price of their console, but that didn’t help the sales to go up.
Since the PlayStation 5 will feature way better specifications that the PlayStation 4, we can clearly say that the console will be able to handle a higher resolution (such as 4K), while still keeping decent frame rates.
Unfortunately, Sony will surely NOT confirm that they will bring the PlayStation 5 next year in order to keep the sales on their PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro.
