0

Two new devices have entered the fray that is the Android market, namely the Redmi Note 4 and the Moto G5 Plus. Both launched in the earlier part of 2017, these devices have garnered much attention for their impressive array of features and new aesthetical design. And as such, it would be quite appropriate to put these two next to each other and compare them.

Design choices

Redmi Note 4 features a fresh look with much slimmer, tapered edges and shiny separation lines. When inspected closely, you can notice 2.D curved glass at the front, while the back features the fingerprint sensor and the camera in a more balanced aspect. Overall, the changes are not that big compared to other examples in this segment of the market but it’s where the Moto G5 Plus seeks to change things.

The Moto G5 Plus features a Corning Gorilla glass 3, which will provide protection in case of accidents. The Redmi Note 4 has no such feature and is quite vulnerable and prone to dents. The G5 Plus also has a Sim Tray, where you can put in two sim cards and a memory card together in a single slot.

Hardware

The Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 is installed in both of the devices and clocks in at 2 GHz. The AnTuTu benchmark tool has clocked the G5 Plus at 62896 and the Note 4 at 63342. They both have the same resolution at 1080×1920. Battery is different, with the Note 4 being powered by a 4100 mAh, while the G5 is powered by a weaker 3000 mAh.

Chargers are also different, with the G5 coming equipped with a turbocharger which allows a very fast charging speed. The Note 4 has a regular fast charger.
