The Sims 5: Rumored Release and Features
Not long after the release of The Sims 4: City Living DLC last year, fans were already asking about The Sims 5. That time, players were hoping for a 2017 release date. But what has really happened to the much-awaited game? Are we to expect to get hold of the latest iteration before the year ends?
The Sims was first launched in 2000 and in 2004, we were introduced to The Sims 2. Five years after, in 2009, Electronic Arts released the 3rd installment and last year, there was The Sims 4 DLC, after the release of the 4th installment in 2014. Given the years of interval between releases, The Sims 5 is to be expected in 2019 and not this year, as predicted earlier.
While players are excited about its release, they are more enthusiastic about what to expect from the upcoming game. For starters, there are speculations that this might be the last installment of the game series. Despite its success, it can also be noted that the popular game has been in existence for 17 years. Some are skeptic if there will still be new things to expect but others are still hopeful there are bigger things to come.
Rumored Features
Since last year, there have been talks that The Sims 5 will have VR-compatible features and until now, these rumors have not died down. Another possibility is in terms of the setting. The Sims 4: City Living DLC has the concrete jungle called Myshuno, for the location. It is said that the next installment will also be based on the same setting but with more characters, objects and items as opposed to its predecessor.
For those who are die-hard players of the popular The Sims franchise, they have noticed the variations between the 3rd and 4th installments in terms of map layout and visuals. So changes and improvements are to be expected, if ever there will be a succeeding game. Also, there are rumors that some features of the previous installments will be retained, particularly from The Sims 3. It can be recalled that in the 4th series, players are not permitted to ride vehicles, a feature which used to be present in the older versions. With The Sims 5, however, there is a possibility that this feature will make a comeback and that the layout will be back to a “neighborhood” style. There will also be bicycles and cars.
While all these are still speculations, anything can happen. Since the start, players were already given the freedom to pick the lifestyle they want and to live the way they want to. These are also the reasons behind the popularity of the game. With the freedom and creativity given to the players, gamers easily got the hang of the game and easily picked it up.
On the part of EA, they still do not want to disclose anything. According to them, the possibility of The Sims 5 depends on how the current game will be welcomed by users. If The Sims 4 will not reach its expected market sales, a new version is unlikely to be released.
