Surface Pro 5 Leaks Regarding The Upcoming Microsoft Event

0

It’s been a year and a half since the release of the Surface Pro 4, and despite the fact that there are new processors available on the market, it wasn’t included in the Surface Studio project and other hardware updates that were released in October last year. Paul Thurrott, who is a veteran in Microsoft information, brings some news about the Surface Pro 5.

New information

Thurrott claims that the Surface Pro 5, which is highly anticipated by fans all over the world, is going to rely still on the Surface Connect power connector. As such, the company decided not to switch the device to USB-C type of charging, even though there are computers on the market that run both on a proprietary jack for power and on USB-C support if you own an adaptor.

Moreover, according to Thurrott, the new tablet is going to run on the Kaby Lake processors designed by Intel, although people have been expecting this for quite a while.

For now we don’t know anything about the design, the ports or the release date of the upcoming model. However, there are some rumors suggesting that Microsoft plans to host some kind of hardware event this spring, but this wouldn’t be feasible only with a small bump for the Surface Pro.

Mary Jo Foley, from ZDNet, claims that the company is not going to release a Surface Book 2, they cut down the Lumia phone series (presumably for the Surface Phone series), the Surface Studio is fresh on our minds and the company completely cancelled the Microsoft Band.

When the tech giant released accessories for the Surface Pro 3 device (namely the Type Cover, the Ethernet adaptor and the docking station), Microsoft said that they will be compatible with the next generation of Surface Pro.
