Xiaomi Mi Box Now Receiving Beta Update for Android 7.0 Nougat
If you’re not familiar with Xiaomi, you’re missing out, because the Chinese company has quickly made a name for themselves in the tech world. The awesome thing about Xiaomi is that it offers affordable products of a comparable quality to those provided by larger, more expensive brands such as Apple or Samsung. And they’re not rip-offs either, which is great because it means that the company are actually putting a lot of effort into what they deliver on the market.
The latest in Xiaomi news is that the Xiaomi Mi Box, the company’s flagship 4K set-top box will now get a beta update of the new Android 7.0 Nougat. While the update is not major in any way, it’s still good because it comes with a few improvements.
New Update for Xiaomi Mi Box
The Android 7.0 Nougat update coming to Xiaomi Mi Box devices will bring an overall improved Android TV user experience. This is made possible by a series of minor tweaks that adjust the features of the box, as well as the quality of image and all that. However, the device still has a long way to go if it wants to meet its rivals halfway at least.
The Xiaomi Mi Box now supports multiple Google accounts, as well as multi-tasking. What is more, thanks to the new beta Nougat update, the menu settings have improved tremendously and the device now even has picture-in-picture support. And, on top of that, the update also brought along the coveted DVR function.
As per the report of many testers and users, the new beta update missed the mark on HDR support for Netflix and Dolby Digital 5.1 pass through. There are also some issues with HD audio in Kodi. However, these issues will most likely be fixed once the final Nougat version rolls in.
