Power Line Cozies Up To Coulter Over SCOTUS
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Dumb Things Said By Smart People, General Politics, Partisan Hacks, Supreme CourtWhen you’re “flattered” that somebody as divisive as Coulter is calling your blog a reason why Dems won’t be able to “Bork” the next SCOTUS nominee, I have to wonder if that’s the type of blog I should really trust.
What’s even more suspect is Power Line writes that a long protracted battle over the nominee is inevitable because somebody within the Bush administration says so.
Earlier in the day, I heard former Solicitor General Ted Olson tell the Washington Chapter of the Federalist Society that he expects the Democrats to apply the same “prolonged, intrusive, and degrading” tactics used to defeat Judge Bork against whomever President Bush nominates to fill Justice O’Connor’s slot. I do too. Unfortunately, then, Ann’s theory almost surely will be put to the test.
Again, I can’t help but feel that these people not only WANT a SCOTUS war, they need it. Whenever something divisive comes up, the waterfall of political donations drown the parties in cash. And do mean drown…
