Obama To Pay Off Hillary’s Debts?
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Hillary, MoneyBarack Obama’s campaign is open to paying off some of the more than $20 million in debt accrued by defeated rival Hillary Clinton, a top adviser said.“Certainly that is something that would be on the table,” the adviser, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, told Bloomberg News reporters and editors yesterday. “Obviously we want to help each other.”
Money for Clinton to retire her campaign debt — $11.4 million of which is owed to herself — may help smooth relations between the two camps following a 16-month primary campaign where the candidates at times exchanged personal attacks. The urgency for Clinton, 60, is she has until the Aug. 25-28 Democratic convention to pay off her $11.4 million personal loan. Otherwise, by law she can recoup no more than $250,000.
I know a lot of Obama supporters are wholeheartedly against this, but let’s remember that Hillary owes a lot of small businesses money, and without Obama’s help they could be out of luck. For that reason alone, I think this makes sense, and may be one of the main reasons Hillary was threatening to stay in the race in the first place.
More as it develops…

So I guess we’ll see how much of a whore she really is between now and 25 Aug……what is she willing to do just for money?

That’s low even for you Terence. Again I am so glad I get to see the real “class” and “change” of what seems like many Obama supporters. Complete embarrassment, luckily Obama isn’t as classless as people like Terence. Hopefully the internet Obama supporters aren’t the real supporters.

If you think it’s JUST for money you don’t understand politics.

Helping pay off the Clinton campaign’s unpaid bills? Probably not a bad idea. Helping Clinton repay the millions that she “loaded” to her own campaign? No way! Although it would probably be best not to say it wauite that bluntly, at least for a while.

TerenceC, that type of language is completely inappropriate here, as you’re well aware.
Shape it up or ship it out.
And no Bob, I hope you don’t think TerenceC is emblematic of Obama supporters on line. I am by no means a Hillary fan, but I’d never stoop to that level and neither would any Obama supporters I know in real life.

So if I’d said “So I guess we’ll see how – venal and politically uncsrupulous – she really is between now and 25 Aug……what is she willing to do just for money?” That would have been OK? If you’re all so sensitive to it then I’m sorry for offending your sensibilities. Y’all ned to lighten up though – it’s going to be alot rougher than that through Nov.

Yes, that would have been okay. But calling somebody a whore is out of line.
As far as getting rougher, I think we all know it’ll be heated during the fall, but the rules of the site are the rules of the site. Leave the name calling at home and bring your best arguments. You comment here often so you should know that.

Didn’t Bill and Hillary earn like 90+ megabucks in the last seven years? Let them pay off the debt out of their personal fortune. OK, so they’ll have to live with having $20M in the bank instead of $50. Boo-fracking-hoo. I do not think Dems should spare $30M for Hillary when that funding is needed to defeat John McCain.
