So he MUST have had quite a bit of independent appeal at one point. Now, does he have any left after pandering to socons for a year? Hmmm.... . I think Romney does make strong sense from at least one PoV. If he can talk tacks about a sound national economic policy, that makes it harder for Obama's to keep his pie-in-the-sky stuff teflon. I think Romney can sell "Obama's an economic nightmare waiting to happen" much better than any of the other names I have heard floated. I also think Crist would be a good choice.
