Rasmussen: Obama Up By 5, 7

With leaners
Obama – 49%
McCain – 44%

Without leaners
Obama – 47%
McCain – 40%

The “with leaners” numbers stays the same today, which represents 4 straight days with 0 movement, a fact that is freaking Rasmussen out. Seriously, pollsters don’t know what to do when numbers are steady. I hear they’re drinking…a lot.

However, Obama has gained 1 in the “without leaners” numbers, so that may give them something to talk about…eventually.

One little tidbit that may be of interest is what issues voters think are the most important this election…

Forty-one percent (41%) of voters say that economic issues are most important in Election 2008 while 24% say national security issues are their highest priority. Obama leads 61% to 33% among those who focus on the economy while McCain leads 62% to 34% among national security voters.

Maybe this is why McCain is embarking on a “jobs” tour across the country soon? No doubt he has to close that gap, and quick.

The 5 day w/leaners:
07/03/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 49%
07/02/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 49%
07/01/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 49%
06/30/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 49%
06/29/2008: McCain – 43%, Obama – 49%

The 5 day w/o leaners:
07/03/2008: McCain – 40%, Obama – 47%
07/02/2008: McCain – 40%, Obama – 46%
07/01/2008: McCain – 40%, Obama – 46%
06/30/2008: McCain – 40%, Obama – 46%
06/29/2008: McCain – 40%, Obama – 47%

More tomorrow…
