With leaners
Obama - 48%
McCain - 45%

Without leaners
Obama - 46%
McCain - 42%

Obama gains one in the without leaners numbers to open up a semi-significant lead post Biden announcement.

How are the favorability and partisan numbers shaping up?

McCain is viewed favorably by 56% of the nation’s voters, Obama by 55%. Biden is now viewed favorably by 48% of voters, up a few points since being selected as Obama’s running mate.

Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters see Obama as politically liberal while 68% see McCain as conservative. Biden, less well known, is seen as liberal by 43%.

Perhaps Biden could help Obama be seen as more centrist?
