Fallout 4 Update: VR Version of the Game Is Set to Impress
In terms of DLCs, you can’t really expect any more updates from Fallout 4. Developer Bethesda Game Studios released the last DLC for the game, Nuka-World, on August 2016, making it clear that it was the last hurrah and giving Fallout 4 a sense of finality — although fans might not yet be ready to accept that.
If you’re one of those who can’t get enough of Fallout 4, you’ll love this good news: Bethesda will release a new title that’s based on virtual reality. Called “Fallout 4 VR”, the game is set to be introduced to the public during E3 2017, which will take place on June 13 to 15, 2017. Bethesda hasn’t given a lot of information about the game, but it has been called a “groundbreaking” title that will change the gaming and VR landscape.
But what, exactly, can you expect from Fallout 4 VR? Well, a few things are obvious: it would still feature the much-loved post-apocalyptic world of the Fallout franchise. And, of course, it would be rooted in virtual reality technology, which means that you’ll get to have a more immersive experience and feel like you’re actually a part of the game, instead of just an outsider looking in.
Those who have been able to play the game attest to this. Speaking at the VR World Congress, AMD corporate vice president Roy Taylor stated that Fallout 4 VR will change the way people think about virtual reality and that “it will be an industry changer.” He compared the game to Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, who revolutionized the gaming industry not just because of their storyline and gameplay but also because they perfectly complemented the home consoles they ran on.
Bethesda’s own staff are enamored by it, too. Speaking with YouTuber and gaming personality HipHopGamer, Bethesda VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines shared a conversation he had with lead designer Todd Howard. The latter reportedly enthused that Fallout 4 VR is the “most incredible thing you’ve ever seen in your life”, adding that “you can’t even imagine what it’s like playing in VR and how realistic it looks with everywhere you turn your head”.
With these reactions, it’s safe to say that Fallout 4 VR will indeed change the gaming landscape. Visit the Bethesda booth during E3 to have a hands-on experience with the game, and stay tuned with us to get more updates.
