Zogby: Clinton, Obama Deadlocked in Pennsylvania

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Hillary, Pennsylvania, Polls

She has a 1 point advantage on him 45/44, but the margin of error is 4.1%, so they’re tied for all intents and purposes.

The telling bits?

  • Hillary leads big in western Pennsylvania, while Obama leads in the eastern part of the state.
  • A large gender gap, with both candidates capturing their respective sex by 15%.
  • Young voters favor Obama and older voters favor Clinton, but the 35-54 set has shifted slightly to Obama since last week
  • But the biggest shock? 60% agree with Obama’s bitter characterization, while only 29% agree with Hillary’s elitist charge

Again, more evidence that the race is tightening and the bitter comments didn’t really hurt Obama…and they may have even helped. That should upset the chattering class some.

The supposed media love with Obama is something I do not see. I do see them as finding excuses for Hillary and keeping her propped up long after the common agreement is that she cannot win the nomination.
The chattering class has been pissed off at Obama alot. They keep declaring his campaign dead because he doesn’t act like other pols and does not mouth the silly conventional wisdom as they know it.
Then he goes and make them look foolish by the public agreeing with his supposed ‘gaffes’. These ‘gaffes’ are declared thus because they are different from their beloved cw. But, they are simply so angry that he keeps defying it and the public keeps ignoring them and taking his side.
Even with the debate. Most voters think he won while the media – again – says he was wrong and failed.
The backlash toward the tradional media is going to be ugly.

No way I believe it – she’ll win there by atleast 8%. Wasn’t Zogby the poll that predicted a 10 point Obama win in New Hampshire?
