We’re not too far removed from the last open thread and certainly we’ve exhausted all our beer talk (although a pint of Mirror Pond on cask at the Horsebrass would be nice), but a weekly open thread was promised so here’s a topic:

    In FL on urgent family matters.

    Mubarak’s klepto-autocracy seems to be slipping into farce. They keep floating spin and trial balloons that no one is buying. Offloading blame? Not working.

    I suspect Egypt’s military may step in more directly unless Mubarak and his henchfolk come up with an expedited process for departure and the establishment of a different government.

    Sort of strikes me that they’re a bunch of old men who are used to certain tools working as they please, and are unequipped for the fact that these ways have failed. They keep pffuinh out their chests and looking over their shoulder for buddies, and NO ONE is lining up behind them.

    I’ve said it before several times, but to echo a recent complaint by Solomonm the captcha is becoming more and more preposterous. There has to be another way, or a way to ratchet it down.

    Yes. It actually kind of looks like a horse and rider. There is a certain percentage of the population that believes it’s the fourth horseman of the apocalypse.

    That is definitely a guy on a horse. Still, quite a stretch to get from there to the fourth horseman of the apocalypse.

    If you apply even the most basic digital enhancement techniques to this video, you can clearly see that it is actually Obama riding a unicorn.
