Does The Elder Scrolls 6 Need a Disguise System?

0

Even though the next installment in the Elder Scrolls series, The Elder Scrolls 6, won’t yet launch for at least a couple of years, many discussion have arisen about how the gameplay could be improved. This has become a valuable discussion point especially now, after seeing how many things developer Bethesda got right with the spectacular Skyrim and its almost flawless gameplay. However, the general consensus is that the main issue with the franchise has to do with its stealth mechanisms.

If you’ve ever played Skyrim or any other game in the Elder Scrolls series, then you might be well aware of the fact that the games are not ones that rely way too heavily of stealth. However, you should also be aware of the fact that at certain points in the gameplay, they do rely on stealth, and thus better stealth mechanics need to be implemented in the next game if Bethesda wants it to be even better than Skyrim.

An efficient and relatively simple way to fix stealth mechanics in The Elder Scrolls 6 would be to implement a disguise system in the game. This could come particularly in handy when infiltrating enemy territory. Imagine if you could just wear the clothes of the opposing team and fool them into thinking you’re one of them, instead of having to fight countless beasts and soldiers in order to enter the encampment.

This system would also be great for player agency, as well as interactivity and immersion. While this issue is understandably not one to be situated at the top of Bethesda’s priority list as far as developing The Elder Scrolls 6 is concerned, we believe that it should be considered by the developer. After all, everyone agrees that stealth is the one thing that is majorly flawed in the series.
