GTA 5 Story DLC Expansion Update
Rockstar has never released an official statement promising to release single-player expansions for the beloved GTA V. However, many fans hoped the developer would since GTA IV has very good add-ons: The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned. The American developer did not do so on purpose; it just happened that GTA Online got updates instead of the single-player.
Rockstar admits to have made a mistake
Imran Sarwar, Rockstar’s design director explained that not releasing a single-player expansion so far was not a conscious decision, but rather things just happened this way. He declared for Game Informer that the studio is more than willing to develop single-player DLCs for future games. Also, he added that the Rockstar puts a lot of effort into single-player games and that the GTA V one was carefully done and very massive, complete. That could be a reason why the developer did not make DLCs for it.
The company is now focusing on the new big hit: Red Dead Redemption 2 and he declared that for now it is not necessary to add expansions for the single-player GTAV.
Bandwidth problems are also something the company works on a lot as attention to details is a must for the developers.
ROckstar’s parent company Take-Two has earned massive profits from the GTA Online game and its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, refers to the game as the gift that continues to give.
Grand Theft Auto V
The game was released in September 2013 and in December 2013 the first rumor of Rockstar developing a single-player DLC appeared. Although the company teased the fans, it never happened. The game is the fourth best selling game with 80,000,000 units so far. The open world design allows players to spend time in the fictional city of Los Santos.
