Captain Ed Joins Malkin? NOOOOOO!!!! It’s A Trap!!!

Michelle and I have different voices, and sometimes different points of view. Rest assured that Michelle respects these differences and wants them as part of Hot Air. My writing and my viewpoints will continue, and find even more encouragement than before. In fact, we look forward to debating on some of these points between her personal blog and Hot Air, much as we have between her personal blog and CapQ – with respect, affection, and the absolute belief that we have it right!
Yeah, I wouldn’t hold my breath on the respect and affection Ed. Especially if you get in her crosshairs. Because let’s not forget that Malkin is the hack who actually suggested that John Kerry SHOT HIMSELF ON PURPOSE. Yes, it happened on Hardball back in 2004. But she’s popular and maybe Ed needs the money. Who knows. Ugh.
What a shame…he really was one of my favorites on the right, but his credibility has definitely dropped today.
UPDATE:
Not that she deserves it, but in the interest of balance here’s Malkin’s post about her appearance on Hardball. Compare her version of the events to the transcript and decide for yourself. Honestly, she’s so far gone I doubt she thinks she did anything wrong.

I don’t understand where CQ was getting any respect anyway since he’s been just like any other extremist right wing blog since the first time I ever read something on it.

I agree Justin. Morrissey’s blog was good. it was my destination site for a rational rightwing perspective. He also had a very tolerant comment policy and permitted a wide range of views and discussion in the comments. Not an echo chamber like other right wing sites RedState . Cripes – I am talking about him in the past tense like he is dead. I didn’t do a lot of commenting there, but did get into some good discussions.
I don’t know what Ed’s motivation was, but the Malkin/HotAir motivation is pretty clear when you look at an Alexa traffic comparison of the two sites over the last year. In a white hot political season, Hot Air was trending down and CQ was trending up.

At least, you don’t unless you want to end up foaming at the mouth and biting people the way she does.

I am also sad to see CQ shut down. I didn’t usually agree with him, but I always found his blog readable whenever I wanted to look at a topic from a right-leaning perspective.
