No one in congress has worked closely with Hussein. Hussein has not spent a month at his job in the seventeen months since he was elected. He has used Millions of dollars in taxpayer money and his congressional staff in his quest for POTUS.

I dont think whether Smith wins the election would necessarily indicate the commercials success or failure. It has to be measured against its intended purpose, which is to try and win over voters. If the ad runs and he subsequently closes the gap, it could certainly indicate that the ad was effective and that it would be sensible for other senators, both Republican and Democrat, to try and use the same tactic if they're running for office on a moderate platform that might typically work against their party. Like a Dem in Virginia or a Rep in Michigan.

And then if more senators are willing to try the bipartisian tact, it could conceivably help remove at least a small bit of the vitriol that encompasses modern American politics. I think its very important to have heated debate of ideas, it ensures all voices are properly heard and that legislation must be moderated, but the process of our campaigns has become insane. Voters aren't being informed about the true merits of the issues, but are simply consistently subjected to scare tactics. Thats something I'd like to see changed, at least a little bit.

I live in Portland, Oregon. I can guarantee you that 8 out of 10 Portlanders are Democratic. Portland, Oregon is full of readers. Yes, we read in this state. As far as Mr. Smith's reverse psychological campaign strategy. Not going to work. Portland is counting down the days until Bush is gone. This city is going to have an all-night kegger. No Republican has a chance in this city until the bad taste off the Bush regime is removed.
