Be The First To Know Obama’s VP
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, VeepJust got an email from the campaign, and this seems like a sign that Obama’s Veep pick could be coming a little bit sooner than we thought.
Barack is about to choose a running mate, and he wants you to know first. You have helped build this movement from the bottom up, and Barack wants you to be part of this important moment.Sign up today and we’ll send you an email announcing Barack’s running mate.
You can also text VP to 62262 to receive a text message on your mobile phone.
Personally, I’m not going to sign up because I’m pretty sure I follow the news closely enough to know when this will be announced. Obama’s camp won’t just surprise everybody because they’ll want to maximize media coverage.
However, for those of you on the go, this may be a good way to stay on top of the latest news from this campaign, especially the Veep pick.
Also, I just checked over at McCain’s site, and I couldn’t find anything like this, but if you know of some type of mobile alerts system, please drop me a line and I’ll post it.

Around The Campaign 2008 Sphere…
Left, right and center blogs are abuzz with the John Edwards Affair, continued/decreased (choose which one you believe) tensions between Barack Obama and the Clintons, and John McCain’s increasingly effective campaign. Here are links to websites…

Moderate Voice, your links didn’t come through, for some reason. Maybe that was a ploy for me to click on your name, and lure me over to your blog? ;)
Perhaps for that very reason, I’m going to “pass” on voluntarily handing my email address and/or cell phone number over to an authorized dealer and trained representative of the DNC. That’s the kind of flotsam and jetsam I certainly don’t need.
I’ll give Justin the honor of breaking the news to me (provided, of course, that he can beat CNN and that other five-letter TV network that hardly anyone else watches).
